Abstract

Today’s market is characterized with diverse, unclear consumer needs; thus, the ability to recommend goods from various products and information that actually meet customers’ specific preferences is essential in stimulating sales and increasing customer satisfaction levels. This paper considers a collaborative filtering method as a recommendation technique in executing customer relationship management. Specifically, an empirical analysis using music CD purchase history data is conducted and a model is constructed that recommends a specific artist’s CD for a given customer.
