A new method for the determination of (CuO)+/Cutotal in the superconducting La2-XSrXCuOy was developed, which is based on the continuous dissolution of the sample pellet in a flowing solution of Fe2+, and the flow-coulometric detections of Fe3+ generated through the stoichiometric redox reaction of (CuO)+ with Fe2+ and the total Cu2+ dissolved. The (CuO)+/Cutotal ratio down to 0.0003 in the bulk of the sample as well as the distribution of the ratio from surface to inside of the pellet can be determined.
