Abstract

The response of the ion-selective electrode, prepared by coating a platinum disk with a membrane of polyacrylamide(PAA) polymer coupled to the tetraaminophthalocyanine cobalt complex (PhCo), was investigated for various anions in acetonitrile(AN) and propylene carbonate(PC). The electrode showed a Nernstian response only to the fluoride and cyanide ions in AN and PC. The selectivity coefficient, kCN-, F-, in PC, was 10. The preliminary value of the solubility produci of lithium cyanide in PC was obtained by titrating the tetraethylammonium cyanide with the lithium perchlorate. Voltammetric behaviors of the PAA-PhCo electrode for several anions in AN were investigated.
