Abstract

The title Cu(II) complex, [Cu(phen)₂Cl]BF₄ (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), was characterized crystallographically, which shows the most near regular trigonal bipyramidal geometry in the five-coordinate [Cu(phen)₂Cl]⁺ series.
