Abstract
The hydrothermal synthesis and crystal structure of a new organic hydrogen-monophosphate, [N2C9H22]·[HPO4]·4H2O, are presented. The cell is tetragonal, space group I41/amd, with a = 20.403(1)Å, c = 15.462(2)Å, V = 6436.2(9)Å3, and Z = 16. The structure, determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data, was refined to R = 0.076 for 889 reflections (I ≥ 2σ(I)). It is built up from disordered [HPO4] tetrahedra associated into dimers and hydrogen bonded to water molecules and diprotonated amines.
