The compound 2-(3-pyridyl)-3-(4-methyl phenyl)-1,3-thiazolidin-4-one has been synthesized. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group P2₁/c; the cell parameters are a = 14.505(1)Å, b = 8.024(1)Å, c = 12.032(2)Å, Z = 4, V = 1392.2(3)Å.³ The final residual factor is R1 = 0.0695. The compound exhibits intermolecular hydrogen bonds of type C-H…N and C-H…O.
