A new bis-chelate complex with the formula [Mn(dabtz)2(NCS)2], dabtz = 2,2′-diamino-4,4′-bithiazole was prepared and characterized by IR, 1H NMR, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography. Two dabtz ligands are coordinated to Mn(II) via bithiazole nitrogen atoms, which lead to five-member chelate rings in a distorted octahedral geometry.
