The crystal structure of 1,1-dimethoxy-4-phenylamino-4-methylthio-3-buten-2-one I, C₁₃H₁₇NO₃S, has been determined. The title compound is packed in columns along the a axis. C(4), C(5), C(6) and nitrogen atoms in the structure are coplanar and π-delocalization exists in I. The tautomer enamino ketone of I is stablized by π-delocalization and intra-molecular hydrogen bond.
