Synthesis and Crystal Structure of (2-Hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)-(2-bromophenyl)methanone

Abstract

The title compound was synthesized and the structure was investigated by X-ray crystallography. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal class in the space group P2₁/c with cell parameters a = 12.864(18)Å, b = 7.536(10)Å, c = 17.643(19)Å, β = 132.195(6)°, Z = 4. The structure exhibits an intramolecular hydrogen bond of the type O-H…O.
