Crystal Structure of an Unusual Tin Cage Compound, [{Sn(PCy₂)₃}{(SnCl)₃O}] (Cy = cyclohexyl)

The crystal structure properties of [{Sn(PCy₂)₃}{(SnCl)₃O}] (Cy = cyclohexyl) are: triclinic, space group P1 with a = 12.672(3)Å, b = 13.914(3)Å, c = 16.449(3)Å, α = 67.64(3)°, β = 67.85(3)°, γ = 75.73(3)°, V = 2466.1(9)Å, Z = 2, R₁ = 0.0476, wR₂ = 0.0944 for 6725 reflections (I > 2σI). The cage compound can be considered as comprising a [Sn(PCy₂)₃]-anion complexing a [(SnCl)₃(μ₃-O)]⁺ cation.
