Crystal and Molecular Structure of Racemic Aqua[(6-carboxyl-2-pyridylamide)histaminato]copper(II)

The title complex crystallized in the triclinic system, space group P1 with cell constants a = 7.0539(4)Å, b = 8.5402(3)Å, c = 11.1056(5)Å, and Z = 2. The final R value was 0.0233 for 3554 reflections (I > 2.00σ(I)). The copper atom was coordinated by the equatorial tetradentate ligand 6-carboxyl-2-pyridylamide-histamine and an apical fifth water molecule with square pyramidal geometry. The fifth ligand molecule gave a planar chirality to the complex molecule, resulting in producing a racemic complex compound.
