N,N′-Bis(2-nitrocinnamaldehyde)ethylenediaminedicholorozinc(II)

Abstract

Bidentate ligands containing imine groups have been used as the modulators of structural and electronic properties of transition metal centers. In this research a novel [ZnLCl₂] {L = N,N′-bis(2-nitrocinnamaldehyde)ethylenediamine, complex have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray. The complex revealed a discrete monomeric structure in the crystal. The geometry around the zinc atom is a distorted tetrahedron.
