Abstract
(R)-Diethyl N,N′-[1,1′-binaphthalene]-2,2′-bis(oxamate) (1) has been prepared for the first time and its crystal structure has been determined. 1 crystallizes in the chiral monoclinic space group P21 with a = 10.9379(5), b = 17.0703(11), c = 14.0946(9)Å, Β = 99.366(4)°, V = 2596.6(3)Å3 and Z = 4. The asymmetric unit comprises two crystallographically independent molecules of 1 and one molecule of dichloromethane as packing solvent without any formation of intermolecular hydrogen bonds.
