Abstract
Incorporation of U-14C-glucose, U-14C-maltose, U-14C-mannose, U-14Cribose, 1-14C-glycerol, U-14C-pyruvate, 1-14C-acetate, U-14C-myomositol, 1-14C-glycine, 2-14C-glycine and U-14C-glycine into kasugamycin and its kasugamine moiety was reported. The incorporation of U-14C-glucose and U-14C-mannose into kasugamycin was 5-fold that of U-14C-maltose. U-14C-glucose, U-14C-mannose and U-14C-maltose were incorporated into the kasugamine moiety more than into the other moieties. U-14C-Myoinositol, 1-14C-glycine and 2-14C-glycine were incorporated into kasugamycin mostly in the parts other than kasugamine.
