New antitumor antibiotic glidobactins A, B and C were isolated from the cultured broth of a gliding bacterium, Polyangium brachyspomm sp. nov. No. K481-B101. They are novel molecules carrying the common cyclic tripeptide nucleus substituted with different α, β, Υ, -δ-unsaturated fatty acids. Glidobactins exhibit broad inhibitory activity against fungi and yeasts, and prolong the life span of mice inoculated with P388 leukemia cells.
