The synthesis of racemic [1, 2-13C2]glycerol (13) starting from [1, 2-13C2]malonic acid (10) and results of the incorporation experiments of [14C(G)]quinic acid (5) and racemic [1, 2-13C2]glycerol (13) with the double mutant P14 of Nocardia mediterranei are described.
