Abstract
In a state of long-continued hunger the bile-capillaries became very fine, the plastosomes in the hepatic cell appeared very thin, while the function of bile-secretion of the liver fell off and stopped completely.
On the contrary bile-secretion was promoted by injecting secretin and taurocholic acid. The bile-capillaries displayed their largest calibre 30 minutes after the injection. The plastosomes showed formal as well as material changes, thus becoming unstainable and dissolving in the fluid of the cell to make primary bile substances.
