Abstract
As the first branding project from Aomori University Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, public lectures on yakuzen (medicinal cuisine) were planned. The theme is quite unique to the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and in line with the concept yakushokudogen, which means "a healthy diet leads to a healthy body." It was considered that the lectures would help the University’s brand building,as its characteristics and attractiveness as a university rooted in the community would be recognized by the people of Aomori. Therefore,a total of three lectures were held, where yakuzen dishes using commonly-eaten food were offered to the participants,who were provided with an explanation of the unexpected health effects of familiar foods on illnesses occurring from autumn to winter,and the prevention of them.
