Abstract
A suspension of boron nitride (BN) nanoparticles was prepared by a cavitation bubble plasma (CBP) for an application to boron compounds for the Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). The settling speed of BN particles in the suspension decreased with increasing CBP treatment time, indicating the improvement of dispersion stability. The CBP treatment for only 30 minutes had a sufficient effect on dispersion stability. The improvement of the dispersion stability was due to the fact that a few OH groups were attached to the surface of BN particles. The CBP treatment did not cause serious damage to affect the crystallinity and crystallite size of BN particles.
