Abstract
Rich and beautiful rural landscape is based on moderate maintenance managements by the people. Because it has been formed by farmland, a ridge, a canal, a farm road, an irrigation pond, and so on. Also, mowing weeds plays a role of preserving a rural landscape related with agricultural-work. And it is generally managed by each farm household or community but the actual condition is not sure well. Therefore, we investigated the mowing weeds quantitatively based on the aerial photograph. As a result of investigation, it was found that a great part of the mowing weeds went for private maintenance in a plain paddy district.
