Abstract

In this research, we tried to clarify Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), which is one of the subject of Aquatic Marine Environmental Education, in order to improve the watershed residents’ ability to fulfill the value of regional resources. Based on the memories of the community and the relationships with wishes and feelings to the area, we aimed to build a basic principle of aquatic environment literacy rooted in the community, which leads to the continued value of TEK. As a result of the SCAT analysis of the utterance, “relationship of contrast”, “relationship of development”, “relationship of overlooking” were found, and “memories” was brought up to raise “relatedness” and “competence”. These results suggested that “wishes and thoughts toward the region” led to the seedling of “autonomy” trying to act under universal values, endogenous watershed community development.
