Abstract
We analyzied how agriculture and countrysaide have been described since post Wprld War II in social subjects textbooks of primary school. The results are as follows: 1) The shre of pages on agriculture and countryside has been consatantly around 20%, higher than that of indeustry and cities except around 1970 (the period of rapid encominc growth). It shows that agriculture and countryside have been thought as important. 2) Some topics, such as “geography and agriculture”, have been keeping constant share every times, while the others have been considerably changed; About 30 years ago modernization of agriculture and improvement of farmer's lofe were one of the most important topics, while in the present, environment at agriculture, revitalization of countryside and rccreation in the countryside appeare as new topics.
