Abstract
A prominent theme is the development of farmland evalution of the urban fringe based on the consciousness of neighbours (N=492) . 1) After the result of semantic differential method, the three common factors; general evaluation, rurality and peculrality were identified. 2) Based on cluster analysis of the factor scores of each questionnaire respondent, four groups were identified. 3) The four groups have different attitudes regarding conservation and planning. The first group has an average consciousness. The second group gives a higher priority to farms. The third group thinks of farms as recreational use. The fourth group thinks offer food and other uses.
