Abstract
Contrasting the area where introduced the land improvement projects are completed with the non-improved area, the questionnaire to residents was carried out about various kinds of public-benefit functions of the land and road for farming use. For economic evaluation of the public-benefit functions using CVM, the payment appraised in the improved area was about two times higher than the non-improved area. It can be considered that land improvement projects have possibility of bringing residents to the external economy in the form of improvements of habitation environment at the location when the area of the projects overlaps residents' living environment.
