Abstract
In this study, we developed a method for classifying the rural villages based on their ecological functions and intentions of farmers. The process of developed classification methods is as follows : 1) the ecological function values of each village is calculated using the geographical grid database (100m×100m). 2) the devastation of the agricultural lands of each village is predicted based on questionnaire survey of fanners. 3) the classification of each village is made according to the results of above-mentioned two factors. By using this method, the rural villages in Iga model area, Mie prefecture were classified into four different kinds of groups.
