Abstract
This study clarified the relationships between appearance patterns of fishes and environmental factors in the main drainage canal in Isawa Town, Iwate Prefecture. Appearance patterns of fishes were most diverse in the environments with high openwork gravel rate and deeper water. It was because of an indispensable condition for fishes of which habitat in the space between gravel and fishes of which habitat was deeper water like pool. We discussed it was important to maintain the environmental factors such as the openwork gravel and pools to secure fish diversity.
