"Effects of Trichoderma spp. on wood degradation with six basidiomycetes, Fomitopsis palustris, Trametes versicolor, and four wild strains, were examined. Japanese white birch blocks were covered with four Trichoderma spp. strains immobilized on wood particles heated at 240-280℃, and exposed to the basidiomycetes at 25℃ for 8-12 weeks to measure block mass losses. Each Trichoderma spp. showed a wood degradation inhibition, and ANCT-05013 gave the strongest inhibition. Mass losses without the immobilized Trichoderma spp. were 20-87 %, whereas ones with ANCT- 05013 were 16 % and 1-3 % by exposing to Trametes versicolor and the other basidiomycetes, respectively."
