Abstract
Three-dimensional CT images were constructed from helical CT images taken from 21 healthy Japanese adults (11 men and 10 women). Twenty-six points were established on soft tissue of the constructed three-dimensional CT, mean values of their coordinates were calculated for both sexes separately, and 11 distances were measured. We established 35 points on hard and soft tissue, and calculated the thickness of the soft tissue at each point. The values of the present work tended to be slightly larger than previously reported. The facial physical models that were created based on the mean values, represents the modern Japanese adults models of both sexes. These models could be rotated on a personal computer from many directions and they could be utilized in many researches such as anthropology and other fields.
