Abstract
On October 26, 2023, a sting occurred in which a banana container from Chiapas, Mexico was found to contain a scorpion, which stung and injured a　staff member. The scorpion was identified as Centruroides tapachulaensis Hoffmann, 1932 (Buthidae).
