1. The isolated liver cells retain their nucleus staining capacity for a week. The nucleus-staining ability seems then to begin to decrease. On the 15th day all nuclei are entirely unstained.
2. The activity of peptidase autolytic enzymes, esterase and amylase is retained very well in the preservation of isolated liver cells. The amylase was found most stable.
3. A part of esterase activity fades away in a relatively short time of preservation, while the remaining activity is quite stable.
4. The activity of hvdrolases within the isolated cells is independent of the ability of nucleus to be stained.
5. It was impossible to find the activity of aminoacidase in the isolated liver cells.
