Abstract

1. Bilaterally adrenaleetomized rabbits were observed to suffer progressively severe derangements in carbohydrate meta-bolism following the operation. Blood sugar and liver glycogen were chiefly affected; these showed aa marked reduction from the normal levels. Muscle glycogen was also diminished slightly.
2. The administration of adrenalin to animals with symptoms of adrenal insufficiency produces an increase in the amount of blood sugar and improves the general appearance of the animal only for a very short location. The liver and muscle glycogen were found to be almost the same as in untreated adrenaleetomized animals.
