1. The cholesterol contents of several tissues in a normal cat are determined. Their individual difference seems to be quite small.
2. The fasting animal showed almost no difference in its cholesterol content of tissue with that of normal animals.
3. In adrenalectomized animal the ester cholesterol in brain and liver is greatly decreased, while that of kidney is increased considerably.
4. The change of the cholesterol content observed in adrenalectomized animal may be prevented by the daily injection of cortical hormone.
5. Cortical hormone seems to have some important role in the cholesterol metabolism within the animal body.
I wish to express my sincere thanks to Prof. S. Kakiuchi for his kind advice throughout the course of the investigation.
