After computing the absorption fo halogen by ergosterol and cholesterol under various conditions, a method for the micro determination of the iodine number of tissue sterolas was finally devised.
The determination of the iodine number of tissue sterols seems to be important in relation to the studies of the nature and the distribution of sterols of different grades of desaturation in animal tissues or in biological materials as a whole.
The prsent article is dedicated to Professor S. Kakiuchi whose Twenty Fifth Anniversary of Securing Professorship at Tokio Imperial University will be celebrated this spring.
