1. m-Toluidineglucoside, and vie. o-, p-, asym. o-, sym. m- and asym. m-xylidineglucosides were synthesized according to the procedure of the Sorokin principle.
2. The velocities of acid hydrolyses of o-, m- and p-toluidides, and those of 5 xylidides were determined. It was concluded that the shorter the distance between the amino and methyl groups of an aglucone, the greater was the tendency for the resistance of the corresponding N-glucoside to acid hydrolysis.
