1. Effect of biotin, oleic acid, Tween 60, and penicillin added to the growing culture on the glutamate formation in the culture, as well as on the ability of glutamate forma-tion, transaminase activity, and cellular per-meability of amino acids in the washed cells was studied in one of glutamate-producing bacteria, Brevibacterium flavum.
2. The cells that were permeable to glutamate were shown to form and accumulate glutamate form glucose in the external me-dium.
