Abstract
Rabbit antibody against B. subtilis α-amylase was purified specifically. The purified antibody neutralized amylase activity linearly in antigen excess zone, and completely at large antibody excess.
It was shown that in BαA-anti-BαA system, the antibody in antigen-antibody complex could not be displaced by substrate, and the combination of antibody with antigen was completely inhibited by previous addition of substrate to the antigen solution.
The neutralizing activities of papain-digests of antibody were much less than that of intact antibody though these digests had the capacity to combine with antigen.
The mechanism involved in neutraliza-tion reaction amylase antiamylase system was discussed.
