By immunohistochemistry, we demonstrated an antigen shared between Leu-7 (HNK-1) and myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG). Anti-Leu-7 (HNK-1), a monoclonal antibody to human natural killer (NK) cells, was shown to label the myelin of human peripheral nerves when examined by the peroxidase anti-peroxidase method. The labelling becomes negative after absorption of Leu-7 by MAG purified from the human brain.
