Vocal record of the Cinnamon Bittern at Hotoke-numa wetland, Aomori Prefecture, northern Japan

Abstract

We recorded the vocalizations of Cinnamon Bittern Ixobrychus cinnamomeus at Hotoke-numa wetland, Aomori Prefecture, on 11 July, 2011. It has been known as a resident breeder in the Ryukyu Islands, and as an accidental visitor in southern and middle Honshu. This is their first record in the Tohoku region of northern Honshu.
