Abstract
The nest of a bird of the genus Gorsachius was found in Miyako Island, south-western Japan on June 4, 2010. The nest was built on a tree branch located eight meters above ground in a tree of Bischofia javanica. An adult was sitting on the nest in a posture of still mimicry. This is the first record of a bird of the genus Gorsachius nesting in Miyako Island. Judging from the species distribution, it is considered to be the nest of the Malayan Night Heron G. melanolophus.
