Morphological Abnormality in a Specimen of Pterygotrigla macrorhynchus (Perciformes: Triglidae) from off Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, with a Note on the Species’ Range Extension

Abstract

A single specimen of Pterygotrigla macrorhynchus Kamohara, 1936 (Perciformes: Triglidae) was collected from the Pacific coast off Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. This specimen is small (57.2 mm in standard length), and has a vertebral abnormality. It represents the northernmost record of this species.
