Abstract

In the first students at KNCT (Kisarazu National College of Technology, in short) are requested to write essays in the lesson of English B, and their written passeges are analyzed from the points of writing materials, its volume, and its characteristics. In the second study we investigated the benefit of 2 hints in the reading comprehension. We administrated the experiment of the reading comprehension. The participants of the experiment is 28 nursing school students, 167 1st grade students of Kisarazu National College of Technology (KNCT) and 88 5th grade students of KNCT. These participants were divided into 2 groups. Group A and Group B. The participants of Group A were presented 5 pictures relevant to the content of the reading test text. The participants of Group B were presented Japanese translations of 6 English words used in the reading test text. The result wes following. According to the average score of the test, Group A is higher than Group B among the nursing school students. But the 1st grade students and 5th grade students of KNCT, the average score of Group B is higher than that of Group A. However there was no significant difference of t-test among 2 groups of the nursing school students and 1st grade and 5th grade students of KNCT. We concluded that there was no significant difference among 2 groups in the reading comprehension.
