Abstract

In this paper we describe implementation and evaluation of a playout program for Monte Carlo Go playing system. Monte Carlo Go requires a huge number of random play called playout in each move, so its speed is very important. Our techniques are delaying calculation of the exact number of dames until really needed and excluding safe territory from the move candidate points. The playout program can perform 25,970 playouts per second for 9×9 grid Go board and 6,774 playouts per second for 19×19 grid board.
