Abstract
We investigated a waste incineration plant and waste dumping site in Yangon, the biggest city of Myanmar. Because Yangon has been coming up against drastic urbanization especially since 2011 when democratization started followed by collapse of the military regime. This intense and rapid urbanization has influenced hygienic environment in Yangon and its suburbs. This paper discusses the hygienic conditions in Yangon through the investigation of the waste incineration plant and waste dumping site by focusing on waste management in Myanmar.
