Notes on Miriquidica instrata (Lecanoraceae, Lichenized Ascomycota) from Japan

Abstract

Miriquidica instrata, previously reported as new to Japan from Mt. Suisho in central Japan, is described in detail here for the first time. This study provides a morphological and chemical description of the Japanese specimen, along with a molecular phylogenetic analysis based on ITS rDNA sequences. Thallus color of the Japanese specimen appears dark gray, due to the presence of a hyaline epinecral layer on the brown cortex.
