Though in 1907 Oberndorfer described a carcinoid as a tumor originat ing from the argentaffine cells of the digestive tract, it is as yet open to discussion as to its entity and nature. Few reports have been made on the appendiceal carcinoid in Japan. We are taking this opportunity to report a case of appendiceal carcinoid associated with acute inflammation.
