Although rapid progress has been made in the cytological detection of gastric cancer by the use of many procedures such as, the gastric brush , abrasive balloon , lavage with enzymes and "Zell-Tupfensonde" certain disadvantages are yet to be encountered . It is still difficult to collect cells without changes caused by the gastric juice. Improved cell collecting methods and correct diagnosis by exfoliated gastric cells have been investigated by many, but few reports have been published on cellular changes due to the gastric juice alone. We are therefore presenting the following preliminary basic expenments.
