Flowing Plasma : Complexity Stemming from Flow-Field Coupling

Abstract

Deep and detailed observations into the universe are revealing diverse structures in plasmas-strong flow-field couplings yield complexity encompassing hierarchy of scales. The governing equations, however, are still in an undeveloped region of mathematical physics. By investigating a fundamental structure of nonlinearity and singular perturbations in vortex dynamics system, we delineate a possible theoretical route to complexity.
