Abstract
We evaluated the effect on three indicators (electric power generation, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, cost) of introducing update planning of larger designated area for regional waste management in Hyogo prefecture. We set two cases: non region-wide management; region-wide management, and compared reduction effects in terms of factor I (contribution by stock management to utilize excessive capacity of waste incineration plants) and factor II (contribution by concentration of plant scale). The results showed contributing rate of factor II to cumulative GHG emission reduction effect was 75.4%. On the other hand, contributing rates of factor I and factor II to cumulative cost reduction effect were 47.0% and 53.0%, respectively.
