Abstract
Abstract: This study conducted a comprehensive evaluation of sustainable indicators based on the Four capital models to elucidate regional sustainability characteristics. Principal component analysis (PCA) was employed using variables such as prefectural gross production, productive population, education budgets, time spent meditating, general trust, the number of community organizations, forest areas, potential photovoltaic energy, and potential wind-power generation. The results indicated that the Kansai, Tokai, Kyushu, and Kita-Kanto have a relatively greater potential for sustainability. This study concludes that a comprehensive evaluation of geographical area to assess its strength and weakness could provide sustainable strategies to local problems.
