Abstract
Non-destructive testing method for evaluation of environmental stress in plant is now in urgent demand as rising awareness of environmental preservation. In this study, detection of elastic waves generated from Solanum lycopersicum L. is performed, applying the acoustic emission (AE) method. In water stress conditions, elastic waves are emitted from gas-liquid flow in plant vessel. Detected AE waves are compared characteristics of AE parameters and the sap-flow of plant. A relation between AE rate and sap-flow is correlated. Thus, the water dynamic monitoring in plant is quantitatively evaluated by AE.
